Planning and Design

Instalcom offer a Planning and Design service tailored to the client's requirements to ensure that the best possible solution can be reached for the installation of a new telecoms network or the up grading of an existing network.

The first stage of the process is to survey the route and prepare a draft duct and chamber design. A meeting will then be arranged with the relevant local authority to discuss the impact on the local community and potential traffic management requirements. Further meetings would then be held with property owners to discuss possible wayleave applications. All SED owners will be contacted to ensure the crossing of structures on the proposed route will be allowed and what the cost implications will be for the placing of ducts in their structures.

Utilizing all of the information gained from the preplanning meetings a final design will then be presented to the client.

The complete design pack would include:

  • Duct and Chamber distribution drawings
  • Traffic management drawings
  • Special Engineering Difficulties details
  • Opening notices
  • Internal building installation details
  • Cable installation drawings
  • Building termination locations
  • Fibre/Copper termination details
  • Sample As-built and post completion documentation pack

Instalcom have a significant track record in the successful design and installation of telecommunications networks for various clients across the UK.
